Obituary for Bobbie Nell Gray (Nance)

Bobbie Nell Gray gained her wings on Thursday, November 3, 2022. Bobbie was born in Greenville, SC to one of four children of Alma Juanita Wright and Calvin Nance on August 18,1963.

Bobbie’s family moved to Washington, DC when she was 7 years old. She graduated from Coolidge High School, while there she was a majorette. Bobbi worked for the Federal Government for over 40+ years, start at the Department of Commence and then FDIC until she retired. While working at FDIC, Bobbi was Community Affairs Specialist and helped develop the Money Smart Financial Education Program that helped people to enhance the financial skills.

In 2002, Bobbie married her love of her life, Ernest Gray. Their nickname for each other was “CHUCK”. They would take spontaneous trip to Delaware to shop.

Bobbie loved the Lord serving as a member of Westphalia United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School, Vocational Bible Study, she was a Lay Speaker and a member of the Choir. She loved to sing, two of her favorite song was “My Help” and “Don’t cry for me”.

Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents Alma Juanita Wright and Calvin Nance. Bobbi leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Ernest B. Gray, Jr, her daughter Marquia Whitlock, 4 grandchildren Briana Singletary, Trinity Lyons, Diyonna Lyons, Emmitt Lyons III,
Sisters Shelby McCullough, JoAnn Nance, Brother Calvin Nance, preceded in death Richard and Ricky Nance and a host of In-laws, nieces, nephew, family and friends that loved her.
