It is with heavy hearts that we gather to remember and celebrate the life of Bonita Bagley Jeffries, a remarkable soul who graced this world with her presence on November 9, 1959, and was called home to rest in the embrace of God on August 7, 2023.

Born to Cleophus and Josephine Bagley in Washington DC, Bonita's journey through life was one of beauty, grace, and accomplishment. The Bagley family's path led them to move to Seat Pleasant, MD, and later to Capitol Heights, MD.

There, Bonita's light began to shine as she graduated with distinction from Central Senior High School, where she served as the Senior Class President of the Class of 1977, a testament to her natural leadership and charisma. As a classical pianist having studied at the esteemed Washington Musical Institute, she also performed a piece during the graduation ceremony.

Bonita's professional journey was one of dedication and advancement. Her tenure at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve showcased her commitment to excellence and her pursuit of knowledge. After leaving this role, she continued to advance through support and later supervisory roles within the DC and Federal Court system.

Bonita married Mark L. Jeffries on December 15, 2015. Their marriage was a testament to the bond that two souls had forged over time. Together, they established their home in the community of Laurel, MD, where the warmth of their love was palpable to all who knew them. Bonita's dedication to her community was evident in her vibrant involvement in various local events. She enjoyed attending community gatherings, where she not only fostered connections with her neighbors but also left an indelible mark through her kindness and vibrant spirit.

Within the walls of their home, Bonita's heart swelled with affection for her beloved cats, which she lovingly referred to as her "babies." Her compassionate nature extended to these furry companions, showcasing her innate ability to nurture and care for those in her life. Her home was not just a place of solace for her, but a sanctuary for her pets as well.

As we remember Bonita Bagley Jeffries, we hold in our hearts the memories of her laughter, her kindness, and her unwavering spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, accomplishment, and a profound impact on all who were blessed to know her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her memory continue to inspire us to live our lives with purpose, grace, and love.
