Bonita Yolanda Smith transitioned into eternal rest and peace on October 28, 2023 at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Patuxent River.

Bonita was born to Leon Smith of Washington DC and Marion Roberta Puller of Baltimore Maryland.

Bonita earned her GED and also went to medical school to become a nursing assistant. Her dream was to work in the medical field because she had a passion for helping people. Her dream lives on through her son Quintin Mason Jr. who is a pharmacy technician in Healthcare.

Bonita enjoyed dancing and music, she was an avid music collector who found joy in listening to anything soulful and beautiful.
Bonita had a big heart and loved her family and friends immensely, she would give her last to make sure her family was fine and she always looked out for people. She loved family gatherings and her favorite holiday was Christmas because of the festivities and socializing with family and friends. Very social and talkative . She could literally strike a conversation with anyone willing to listen. Open minded, supportive and opionated. She uplifted people, especially her family and friends. She believed in the best in people. She never shied away from telling someone how she felt or what she thought. Bold and brave, she confronted any issue head on but still remained a humble and a beautiful person, who loved and looked out for everyone who couldn't speak up or look out for themselves. Bonita also didn't mind poking fun at herself, she was fun, funny and comical to be around, she knew how to lighten the mood to have a good time by making people laugh and just having a jovial and welcoming spirit. She could literally star in her own TV show and the audience would never get bored. Anyone who knew Bonita , knew she loved hard and expected the same thing from everyone that was in her life. She was genuinely a good and loving person who definitely earned her wings.

She endured and went through challenges in life but always fought hard with great integrity and always came out on top through the grace of God. She was a very strong independent women who believed that God could get her through any struggle in this life. She fought cancer and held onto her faith until the end. One of kind, unforgettable and genuine, she left a lasting impressions on everyone that had the pleasure of meeting and knowing Bonita.
