Carolyn Scott was born on December 19, 1934, to the union of Gayle Scott and Edwina Jones in Pittsburgh, PA (both preceded her in death). Carolyn was the third child out of four and the only girl.

Carolyn was baptized at an early age at Calvary Baptist Church on the hill district in Pittsburgh, PA. She entered into the Pittsburgh Public School district and graduated in 1952 from Schenley High School. She then attended a business school.

Carolyn loved to roller skate and entertain. Carolyn was a social butterfly. She was a member of the Just Us Girls Club in Pittsburgh as well as a committee member of the Miss Black Teenage Pageant. Carolyn enjoyed the company of her friends and colleagues

Carolyn met Willie Toney in the early 60’s, they were married in 1962. Born out of this union was there only daughter Angela Toney.

Carolyn worked for PPG Industries for 19 ½ years in the Personnel department. She then relocated to Virginia with her husband in 1985. She worked for several agencies to include The Central Intelligence Agency and Raytheon.

On August 15, 2022 Carolyn S. Toney concluded her life temporal and stepped into life eternal. Her abundant life was marked by faithful and cheerful service to the LORD, husband, and her family. All of her three brothers preceded her in death, Cleveland Scott, Harvey Paul Scott and Bruce Scott. She was survived by her only child Angela Toney-Moore, Son in-law William Moore, her 3 grandchildren Scott Moore, Ashley Moore and Benjamin Moore. Several nieces, Brittany Scott, Jan Scott, and Donna Scott along with nephews Eric Scott and Bruce Scott. As well as a host of friends and colleagues.
