Obituary for Carrie Mae Elliotte (Robinson)

Carrie Mae Elliotte entered into eternal rest to be with the Master early Sunday morning, November 20, 2022. Born in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on January 15, 1929, to the late Douglas and Verlie Robinson. She was one of five siblings, Edward, Douglas, Jr., Rudolph (Rudy) and Freddie all predeceased her. The family later moved to the District of Columbia followed by settling in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was educated in the public schools of the District of Columbia and was graduated from high school in Portsmouth, Virginia.

She accepted Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at an early age at New Mount Olive Baptist Church in DC. In addition to New Mount Olive her church memberships include St. Mark Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, Mount Ephraim Baptist Church in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. In 2004, she and her family became members of First Baptist Church of Highland Park in Landover, Maryland. Carrie Mae was a faithful member until her health declined and was unable to be in attendance. However, she was able to watch services online.

Carrie Mae was wed in holy matrimony to the late Tech Sargeant Robert Jefferson “Jeff” Elliotte. Four daughters and a son were born to this union. She spent much of her marriage traveling with her husband to military bases located across the United States. Carrie Mae was widowed after Jeff’s retirement from the military. Following Jeff’s death Carrie decided to move to Maryland to be near close relatives.

Carrie was a mother par excellent. She was meticulous in how she maintained her home. Always striving for cleanliness while providing a clean environment for her family. Mom was a woman of few words, however, when she spoke you listened. She loved and enjoyed her family and people in general. She had a special way to bring about a sense of warmth and joy into the lives of those she touched.

Carrie was a precious jewel loaned to us from God for ninety-three years. She leaves to cherish and enhance her memory: four daughters, Rev. Sandra Elliotte Smalls (Arthur), Auntalene Elliotte Queen, Joyce Elliotte and Sherry Elliotte; and one son Robert Jefferson Elliotte (Lynnae), grandchildren: Tanya Goode (Melvin), Michael “Tony” Queen (Erica) and Madyson Elliotte; great grandchildren; Erik Suggs, Tatyana Washington (Mark), Nevaeh, Trey and Morgan; great-great grandchildren, Emmie, Erin, Trinity, K. Mylo and Myla; nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
