Obituary for Christine B. "Kitty" Moorer

Mrs. Christine Brown Moorer, daughter of the late Alpreshia and Silas Brown, Sr. departed this life Sunday, March 3, 2024, at the Adelphia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Adelphia, Maryland, after a short illness.

Christine Brown Moorer known as (Ms. Kitty) was born on March 25, 1950, in Bowman, South Carolina. She was educated in the Orangeburg County Public School system graduating from Bethune Memorial High School in 1967.

Christine was united in Holy Matrimony to Wallace Moorer on May 31, 1967. To this union, three (3) children were born, Angela, TeKeshia (deceased) and DeMarco. She and her husband moved to Washington, DC.

She furthered her education/training at the OIC/DC (Oracle Integration Cloud Services) facility where she received a certificate as a (Key Punch Operator). She then started a job at the Communications Workers of America. She worked there for 30 years until she retired in 2000 as an Accounting Clerk.

Christine joined the Enon Baptist Church in the early 70’s and was a member of the Arthur Echoes, served on the Usher Board and was a faithful servant of the Kitchen Ministry until her illness.

She was preceded in death by her parents one daughter, two brothers Charles Edward Brown, and Willie Gene Brown. Christine leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband Wallace; one daughter Angela (Lenwood) Mack, and son DeMarco Moorer, seven grandchildren Alexis Tyler, India Ciara, Malaka Imoni, Noelle Latajah, Amari Alpreshia, Tavon Anthony and Malijah Marie, two great-grandsons, DeMarco Mikah and Diesel Mah’Zi. Four brothers Nathaniel Brown, Silas Brown, Jr, Anthony (Roxanne) Brown and Larry (Queen) Brown three sisters-in-law (Helen Williams, Diane Moorer and Mary Douglas-Brown), one brother-in-law (Maceo Moorer), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
