Obituary for Clifton Ronald Robinson

On Friday, March 29, 2024, the Lord called home Clifton R. Robinson, passionately known as “Cliff.” Cliff was born on December 24, 1966, in Washington, D.C. to the late James C. Robinson, Sr. and Ida T. Robinson. He was the youngest of five children. Clifton accepted Jesus Christ in his life at an early age and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Highland Park.

Cliff was educated in the Prince George’s County Public School System and graduated from Parkdale High School in 1985. Cliff received an athletic football scholarship, and he attended Bowie State University. He was co-owner of Natural Images, established on January 12, 1988, where he was able to display his passion for photography. Cliff worked various jobs and was employed at Collington Episcopal Life Care until his health began to fail.

Cliff’s genuine and caring nature left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Clifton was a dedicated former coach of the Palmer Park Boys and Girls Club Little League Football Association. He was also very dedicated to his role as an uncle. Cliff enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews to the movies, the park, and various children’s activities. His nieces and nephews passionately named him Uncle Buck. He was a family-oriented man and rarely missed a family gathering. Cliff also shared a heartfelt love for his fur babies. He enjoyed cooking for his mother and taking on the responsibilities of the home. Cliff was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He went above and beyond to help others. Cliff was a proud member of “Brotherhood of the Circle” which focused on being a positive role model for the household.

Cliff enjoyed traveling to difference countries with his friends and capturing the various cultures on film.

One of Cliff’s greatest joys and accomplishments was becoming the father of Draconis Benkowich in 2008. Draconis was the apple of his eye. Draconis came to live with Cliff in 2010. His mission as a single parent was to ensure that Draconis grew up to be a fine young man.

Cliff had a kind heart, a warm spirit, and a gentle soul. He was soft-spoken and never complained. He never complained even when the pain was unbearable, and his health was failing. He always greeted you with a smile.

He was preceded in death by his father James C. Robinson, Sr., and his older sister Mattie Mae Carroll.

Cliff’s memory will be cherished by his son Draconis, Goddaughter Siondra Weeks, his mother Ida Robinson; Aunts, Lillie Bell Andrews, Sarah T. Gaston, and Zarelda Terry; Brothers, James C. Robinson, Jr., and Terreance T. Robinson, and sister Joan P. Robinson-Godfrey, brother-in-law Clarence Godfrey, Jr., and sister-in-law Melanie Robinson; Nephews, Jerome Carroll, Eric Carroll, Brian Snowden, Jr., Antony Fenny, Sherman Carroll, Robert Carroll, Terreance A.
