On Friday December 2nd 2022, Our beloved Donell Deyvon Jones while surrounded by his loving family took his rest. Donell was born in Freeman’s hospital to Tawana Prue and Robert Jones. Donell was lovingly raised by his parents William and Tawana Prue. He was educated for much of his life in Catholic school attending St Gabriel’s until he reached 8th grade at which time he attended Rabout JHS and later went on to graduate a proud Calvin Coolidge SHS colt!!

Donell began working at a very young age working in both fast food and retail until he began his career with the District of Columbia Fire and EMS department, where he proudly served for 13 years. He then worked various jobs until he became a special police officer. Donell had a passion for cooking and music and even designing his own clothing line.He loved to grill and entertain, always the life of the party. He was a dreamer and very creative and cared deeply for his family and friends. His in your face sense of humor and infectious laugh will be sorely missed.

Donell is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Frances Jones, daughters Sareeta (Aaron) Jones, Amira Jones and granddaughter (Noraa Wood), loving parents William and Tawana Prue, brothers Eric (Lakia) Prue, Terrence Prue, William (BJ)Prue and a sister Ebony Prue, 7 Nieces Marqira, Zymiah, Aneya, Terra, Zoey, Ravyn, Zymeah, 5 nephews De’von, ,Jovan, Terrence Jr, Zyon , Brian jr and one great nephew Ace

And a host of relatives and close friends. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert (BB)TenEyck ,great grandparents Jacob and Martha Gadson, Grandfather Jacob Gadson Jr, Grandmother Barbara Smith, Grandparent William and Flossie Prue and Grandmother

To say that Donell will be missed is a gross understatement, he was an awesome husband, father and all around good man.. A devoted friend and family man, the life of any party and could bbq and cook out of this world. Although our hearts are broken and we will miss him, we can take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and watching over us all. His memory will live for eternity.
