Dwayne Lamont Willliams

On Friday, May 26, 2023, Dwayne Lamont Williams passed peacefully in his sleep, answering GOD’s call. He was born to John H Williams and Audrey C Williams on September 19, 1960 in Washington, DC. He was the second youngest of seven children.

He was christened into the Catholic faith at a young age. As he grew older, he worshipped and fellowshipped as a Baptist. Dwayne always believed in and served our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by parents, John and Audrey, brother Ronnie Robinson, sister Rhonda J Reese, Godbrother John (Skippy) Brooks, nephew Reggie Robinson; and great-niece Amaya Ashanti Adair-Jones.

He is survived by a son, Kendall Owens; sisters: Joyce Adair (Robert), Debra Robinson, Michele Taylor (Jeff), and Kim Williams-Chasten (Rick), nephews Eudon Robinson (Brandi), Ukamba Robinson (Camary), David-Johnathen “DJ” Williams (Debrisha), Mark Horne-Williams (Marcus), and Norman Shields; nieces Faith Ramirez (Lorenzo) and Tamika Adair; and grandchildren Josiah Cousin, Al’eyah Cousin, Kendell Owens Jr, and Prince Owens, and a host of great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his immediate family, he leaves to cherish his memory devoted great-cousin Quintin Hardy and a multitude of other cousins and relatives.

Dwayne received his grade school education in the Washington D.C. and Maryland Public School Systems. He ultimately obtained his GED from Berkley Adult School in California. He also attended the University of Berkley California and obtained his professional certification from the Lincoln Technical Institute.

Dwayne enjoyed working with his hands which he turned into a career spanning over 30+ years in construction and contracting. His skillset included concrete, tile/flooring, painting, and basic plumbing and electrical.

He spent his life doing the things he enjoyed such as dancing, traveling, reading, playing cards, and all sports. Basketball, football, and boxing were his favorites.

Dwayne loved to be surrounded by his family and friends, often taking great pride in any reason to grill and cook for them. He could always be found dancing and laughing heartily at family functions and parties. He especially loved visits from his nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
