Elizabeth Elain Gaither, age 75, of Washington, DC, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023. Elain, as she was affectionally called, was born on March 3, 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Joe Freeman Rudolph, Sr. and Arizona Rudolph. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband of 51 years, Donald S. Gaither, Jr.; one son, Donald S. Gaither, III; one daughter, Tamla Ransford (Emon); five grandchildren: Deonte, Jewel, Josiah, Emon II, and Damare; one brother, Joe Freeman Rudolph, Jr. (Patricia) and one sister, Judy Daniels; one brother-in-law, Ronald Meares; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Rudolph, Amorette Gaither, and Laletia Gaither; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Elain was proceeded in death by her siblings: Robert Rudolph, Betty Meares and Joe McCoy Rudolph, and brother-in-law, Rodney Gaither, Sr.

A memorial and celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Greater Refuge Ministries, Inc. located at 9510 Piscataway Road, Clinton, MD 20735. The family will welcome friends and family at 10am, followed by the service beginning at 11am.
