Emerald Randolph "Randy" Blue, son of the late Abbey and Jerry Blue, passed away at the venerable age of 93 in Temple Hills, Maryland. Born on April 14, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Randy was a man of noble character, known for his kindness and gentle spirit. A devoted family man, he cherished his wife and children above all.

Randy was the brother of the late Grafton (and his wife Ethel), Jerry (and his wife Thelma), Chester, John (and his wife Frances), and Emerson. His legacy will be carried on by his loving children, Emerson R. Blue (and his wife Robin), and Deborah "Peach" Adams (and her husband Anthony). His memory will also be treasured by his grandchildren, Sharde` and Emerson B. Blue, who will miss their grandfather's warmth and wisdom. Randy’s loving nieces and nephews will miss his kind and generous spirit. Finally, a special thanks to Mrs. Merline Ewart.
The Blue family has been touched by Randy's unwavering integrity and the love he shared with all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life exemplified a commitment to family values and community service. As a young man, Randy joined the United States Army where he earned the rank of Gunnery Seargent for the 503rd Field Artillery Battalion in the Korean War. At the end of his tour of service, he was decorated for Valor with a Bronze Medal.
Randy's career continued to flourish after the war. Because he was an artist, he joined the United States Department of Defense Logistics Agency as an illustrator. He rendered many of the Department of Defense Logos, for which he was the recipient of many awards. Randy ended his career as Chief of Defense Logistics in 2009.
Randy had many past times and hobbies, including his love of horse racing, playing poker and the Maryland lottery.
To honor Randy's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to the Disabled Veterans Society, a cause close to his heart. Let us celebrate the life of Emerald Randolph Blue by continuing to spread the love and kindness he so effortlessly embodied.

A traditional service will be held to commemorate Randy's life, with details to be provided by the family. His passing is a solemn reminder of the fleeting nature of life, and he will be profoundly missed by friends and family alike. Rest in peace, Daddy, and may your soul find eternal tranquility.
He will be laid to rest at Cheltenham Cemetery his beside his beloved Eunice. Interment will be private.

The Family would like to have you join them for repass celebration at 1 Kettering Drive Kettering Maryland.
