Georgie Posey was born on September 5, 1954 at Prince George's Hospital in
Cheverly, MD to the late Edward and Pauline Posey. Georgie departed
this life on July 1, 2022 at his residence in College Park, MD.
He was educated in the Prince George's County School System at Central
High School in Capital Heights, MD. He later moved to the Landover,
MD area and worked at the City of Mt. Rainier Public Works in Mt.
Rainer, MD for 18 years until he departed employment. Then he started
working with his father’s landscaping business in Mt. Rainier until his
passing.

Georgie loved playing drums as a child into his adult years especially
during parties, cookouts and family gatherings. Later he learned how to
play the bongo and tambourine. There’s one thing to be said he could get
a party started and he wasn’t shy about dancing. And he also was
teased about the girls.
(Georgie Porgie Puddin and Pie kissed the girls and made them cry)
He was a “die-hard “ Redskins fan and loved music.

He leaves to cherish his memory, 2 sons Georgie A. Posey, Jr., Steven N.
Posey, 5 brothers, Leroy, Edward, Jr., James, Tommie, Floyd, 2 sisters,
Brenda, Paulette, 1 step daughter Erica, 7 grandchildren, Steven II,
Israel, Journey, Tiara, Devante, Onhisty, Madison, a host of nieces,
nephews and friends.
