Obituary for Gregory Allen Hill Sr.

Gregory Allen Hill, Sr. fell asleep in death on February 6, 2024, at George Washington University Hospital, Washington, DC.

Greg was born in Danville, VA on July 25, 1964, to Alice Motley Hill and Albert Edwin Hill. He was educated in the District of Columbia public school system and graduated from McKinley Technical High School in 1983. He also studied Architecture at North Carolina A&T. He had several employers and positions but his most satisfying was with the US Marshal Service as a Project Manager and retired after 14 years of service.

On May 16, 1992, Greg was united in marriage to Marenda Redfearn. God blessed this union with two beautiful children, Gregory Allen Hill, II and Bex Marenda Redfearn (formerly Brittany Marenda Hill) and he loved them dearly. His most recent joy and happiness was spending time with his grandson, Zane Alexander Hill, now 5 months old.

Greg loved helping others and never hesitated to respond to any call for assistance. He enjoyed being outside and working with his hands. Greg loved spending time with family, fast cars and motorcycles. He treasured trips with his cousins, who were more like brothers, and the Kingdom Knights Motorcycle Ministry. After an unfortunate accident, he was no longer able to ride but never lost the desire. He was having his 1965 Camaro restored with dreams of driving cross country with his wife.

Greg was very strong-willed and a true fighter.

Greg leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife, Marenda Redfearn Hill; children: Gregory Hill, II and Bex Redfearn; grandson, Zane Hill; parents, Albert and Alice Hill; sisters: Cecilia Chase, Cynthia Clark, Lisa Armistead (Carey Armistead); and brother Timothy Oliver.

He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him
