John Isaiah Allen passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024. He was born on July 8, 1950 to the late Francis L. Allen Sr. and Annie Evelyn Clark-Allen in Washington, DC. John was educated in Prince George’s County school system.

In 1968, he graduated from Fairmont Heights High School. He was an excellent athlete and excelled in football in the position of a Defensive end and Halfback and he made All-Met in Prince Georges’s County. Also, John was involved in track and field sports, but football was his passion and dream. After he graduated, John attended Florida State University where he continued his passion of playing football. He was scouted by the National Football League and tried out for the Chicago Bears. As of recently, John was inducted into the Fairmont Heights Football Hall of Fame. He became a
household name in football and received many citations and trophies.

Most of all, John loved his family and friends and was always willing to help them in any way possible. He had a great sense of humor and always had words of wisdom to give you. Fish-
ing, landscaping, and watching football games were his favorite pastimes. He was a die hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Prior to John becoming ill, John and Agnes enjoyed traveling and going
to the casinos. Whenever you sat with John, he would always find a way to incorporate the Lord in the conversation. He attended the House of Prayer Church in Capitol Heights, Maryland
under the direction of Pastor Simms, and he later joined the Shining Star Baptist Church in Seat Pleasant, Maryland under the direction of Pastor Flowers.

John leaves to mourn his loving wife of 24 years Agnes Allen, two daughters Kutina Barson (Dominic), and Nichole Allen; four sons John Williams (deceased), Travis Allen, Wendell Allen
and Marcus Allen (Tamara); step-daughter Lisa Brame (Latreal Brame); three brothers Elder Kenneth Allen, Dr. Roger Allen (Pamela), and Eddie Allen; three sisters Evangelist Viola Allen,
Elizabeth Vaughn (William), and Sherry Allen; 16 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, one brother-in-law Lawrence Colbert, one sister-in-law Amy Jordan and host of relatives and friends.

John is preceded in death by parents Francis L. Allen Sr., and Annie Evelyn Clark-Allen; four brothers Francis L. Allen Jr., Willard L. Allen, Lawrence Allen, and Stephen Allen; five sisters
Annette Allen, Linda Allen, Doris Cannon, Mamie Allen, and Judy Allen.
