Obituary for John Viennia Knott
John V. Knott, was born on September 25, 1933 in Charles County, MD to the late Thomas & Annie Mae Goldring. John
departed this life peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2023. John married Della E. Middleton (Beth) on April 28,1956 and from this union were blessed with six children, Joseph, Barbarann, John, Marvin, Linda and David.
Today is their “67th Wedding Anniversary.”
John was educated in the Charles County School System. He held numerous positions at various levels until he retired as a Building Supervisor for Prince George ’s County Public School System in 1996 after 44 years of service.
Although shocked by his death, his family and friends are thankful for the life he lived. John was no stranger to hard work. He enjoyed family gatherings, farming, fishing, gardening, watching wrestling, playing cards, casino and love listening to
“Oldies but Goodies” songs. He was a humble man who would give you the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His spirit was so warm and gentle. John loved everyone.
John loved his children and grandchildren. He had a special bond with his close brothers-in-laws, Thomas Yates & Charles Brooks, along with his wonderful cousins Alfonzo, Thomas, James and Gerald. Also, his special friends Warren Pierce, Wayne Wells and others who made his day.
John was preceded in death by Thomas & Annie Mae Golding (parents), John E. Knott, Jr. (son) and David L. Knott, Jr. (grandson). He leaves to cherish his devoted wife of 67 years, Della E. Knott, five children, Joseph Knott (Deloris), Barbarann Proctor (William), Marvin Knott, Linda Knott and David Knott (Lisha), eleven grandchildren: Maurice, JaKetia, Jason, Jenice, Eric, Davon, Markeya, Terry, Tina, Shanta, Latrell and two great grandchildren Tyler and Devin. Along with a host of brothers & sisters-in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
