Obituary for Johnny Jones Jr.
Changing of the Guards ( This Happens when our Elders Transition into The Heavens and we the Children Become the Elders )
Johnny Jones ( JC ) Transitioned on the 5th day of December. “Patriarch” Our leaders of the family. Named after his Father who was also named after his father ( Many of our Great Grandfather Johnny Jones )
JC who was a Uncle, Cousin, and dear friend to many and lived a full life. Leaving home at an Early age, from Military Service, to ”Ole”School Mover and Shaker in the Streets, to Working for our US Government, to Sky cap at Reagan National Airport and so so much more in between. JC had 2 wives, lots of broken hearts and just a Zest for life many will never ever experience.
There is such Great Sadness that comes with such a loss, so much history. JC was a Jones by fathers family name and a Gross(Hart)by his mothers family name, so for many of us he was our family member on both sides of the family.
Always sharp and Full of wisdom. I pray 🙏🏾 like our elders we take the knowledge shared and move into the position of Elder effortlessly.
There will be a Formal Memorial next year close to the family reunion time in Augusta. ( details to be shared at a later date ) Memorial’s are for Honoring the life of those we’ve loved dearly and loss, not for sorrow ( my prayer ).
May his fighting, funny, full of life spirit forever Rest in Heavenly Peace.

There will be memorial programs available for all at the Formal Memorial in July. JC Urn will be placed with his mother grave at the Family church in Wren, Georgia at this same time ( more details will come ) Harts Grove Baptist Church.
