Obituary for Keith Langston Curtis

Keith Langston Curtis loved God, family, and friends. He accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and always had a servant’s heart. The son of the late Sidney Curtis and Rae C. Spiller, Keith was born in Washington, D.C. on January 26, 1962. He passed into eternal life on September 13, 2023, at age 61.

Keith was the second son in a family of four brothers who affectionately nicknamed him “Buddy.” His eldest brother, Sidney Curtis (Joanye) preceded Keith into eternal life. Keith accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior.

He attended Washington, D.C. Public Schools (Taft Junior High School) and Prince George’s County Maryland Public Schools (DuVal High School). Following high school, Keith joined the federal Job Corps program where he acquired many professional skills and talents.

Throughout his career, Keith worked for several employers, among them the Current News Company (PG County) where he was on the warehouse assembly and customer service staff. Keith also worked for family businesses, among them ACS, also in PG County.

Keith had a warm, affectionate, and engaging personality, with a charming quick-witted sense of humor.

Family and friends deeply loved and appreciated his ability to “march to the beat of his own drum.” He had a very free-spirited disposition. He was always happy with the simple things—a hot cup of coffee, his “smokes” and a little “Earth, Wind & Fire” to occasionally massage the ears. Keith was very generous, always sharing his time with the family. It was never a surprise to find him whipping-up some delicious barbecue at family gatherings and picnics.

Keith was truly a one-of- a- kind individual and he met life’s challenges his way!

Keith leaves his loved ones with many warm and treasured memories. They include his brothers Jonathan J. Curtis (Velma); Dr. Brian E. Curtis (Angela); nephews Jonathan Curtis and Antonio Alston; a devoted cousin Anthony D. Cannady (Alice); a host of other relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

Homegoing celebration will be held Saturday September 30, 2023, at Capital Christian Fellowship, 10411 Greenbelt Rd. Lanham MD. 20706., where viewing will take place at 10 a.m., and service will begin at 11 a.m. Evangelist Dr. Angela R. Curtis, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your favorite charity be given in Keith’s name.
