Linda Gayle Tucker was born on March 23, 1952, as the third child of James Edward and Louise Coleman Tucker in Halifax, Virginia. She graduated from Mary M. Bethune High School in Halifax and continued her post-secondary studies at Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She also earned an associate’s degree in Biblical Studies from the Refreshing Spring Bible Institute and was pursuing a master’s in Theology at the Andersonville Theological Seminary before her passing.

Linda Gayle’s ambitions led her from the family farm to the corporate world, where she held positions in telecommunications at MCI and IBM, and eventually to her final full-time position as an Analyst at Kaiser Permanente before her retirement. She would later work part time at the reception desk of the Prince George's Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Maryland.

Her primary passion, however, was sharing the Word of God as a church leader, teacher, and minister. Linda Gayle was baptized at County Line Baptist Church after she accepted Jesus as her Lord and personal savior as a child. This foundation led to her work at Refreshing Spring Church of God in Christ in Riverdale, Maryland, where she served for 20 years with the ministerial staff and was appointed Dean of the Refreshing Spring Bible Institute Certification Program, developing a discipleship plan for Christian Maturity in 2004. She also served as Associate Dean for the Institute's degreed program and faculty member for four years teaching Ecclesiology (the study of the church) and the Poetical Books, among other duties and accomplishments.

In 2005, Linda Gayle would transition to the Temple of Praise in Washington, D.C., where she served three years as an Associate Minister with the staff and was ordained as an Elder in January 2009. During her time at the temple, Linda Gayle served as the Coordinator for the Intercessory Prayer Ministry and worked with the new member and education ministries for the church.

Linda Gayle was an avid traveler who sailed on several cruises and made a personally meaningful trip to the Holy Land where she had the opportunity to visit historical sites and traverse the same locations she had read about in the Bible. Her sense of adventure was only matched by her love of photography, which she used to document her journeys as well as important family gatherings, church, and community events. She generously shared the memories she captured through prints and, later, on social media where others can continue to share in the delight of times gone by.

Linda Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, James and Louise Tucker; her sister, Orbie (Otis) Roberts; and brother John Wayne Tucker. She is survived by her brothers James (Shirley) Tucker of Springdale, Maryland; Joseph (Kimberly) Tucker of Randallstown, Maryland; and Greg (Sharon) Tucker of Silver Spring, Maryland; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers and sisters in Christ, friends, and former coworkers. The wisdom, joy, and laughter she brought to all those who encountered her will live on in our hearts. She will be dearly missed.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28 (KJV)
