Martha Isabelle James (Ford) was born in Upper Marlboro, MD. She received her education from Frederick Douglass High School. Martha married Matthew H. James, the love of her life, on November 22, 1995. She raised her four children and also helped to raise five of her grandchildren. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing, movie-watching, attending church, and spending quality time with her family. Martha is survived by her husband, Matthew H. James; her four children, Patricia R. Pickett (Lorenzo Pickett), Charles E. Ford, Stephen C. Ford, and Laverne G. Ford; along with her grandchildren Danelle, Dominique, Desiree, Deanna, Charles, Jr., Gary, Shakira, Justin, Maya, Colin, Dorothy, Rogers and ten great-grandchildren. Martha is also survived by her nine sisters and two brothers. Martha was predeceased by her parents, James T. Ford and Alice Marie Ford, three brothers, one sister, and grandson, Matthew. Her family and friends will surely miss her
