Obituary for Preston Stephen Lambert

Preston Stephen Lambert was born on January 19, 1951, to Clive Livingston and Jonatha Lambert in the Parish of St. Davids, Grenada, West Indies.

In 1978, he immigrated to the United States to join his eldest sister and settled in the State of Maryland, Prince George's County. Soon after, he was joined by his wife and children. Many would recount stories about being helped by Preston and Doreen when they would travel to the United States for vacation and sometimes would not have a place to stay or they would lack food and clothing. As a couple, they were known for being good people who helped others in need. Almost everyone who traveled from Grenada knew about the Chillum Heights, Maryland couple "Doreen and Preston".

Preston was a professional painter by trade. It was the simplest things that brought him joy. He loved sports. He played cricket for the Malmount Cricket Team in St. David's, Grenada. Among his friends and teammates in Malmount St. David's, Preston was known as one of the best "bat's men." He lived a simple life, but he was a man of great courage. Although he had an infectious laugh and a smile that lit up a room, he was a man of authority and no-nonsense.

In the early hours of Thursday, September 14, 2023, God released him from his suffering caused by Alzheimer’s and dementia-related illness and called him home.

A son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, man of God, and friend. He will be greatly missed.

Preston Stephen Lambert's service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2023, 6 pm-9 pm, Ebenezer Church of God, 7550 Buchanan Street, Hyattsville, MD 20784.
