Rudolph Robinson was born on November 17, 1926 in Washington, D.C. to the late Bessie Tyree and was the step-son of the late Robert Tyree. He was their only child. He entered into eternal rest peacefully at home on May 21, 2023.
Rudolph attended public schools in Washington, D.C. and graduated from Armstrong High School.
He was drafted into the Army in February 1951. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged from the Army in February 1953.
Rudolph married Evelyn E. White in July 1951. Two daughters were born in this union - Gequeta and Valencia. He really loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whenever he was needed, he was always there with a helping hand.
He joined the Masonic Order and in 1960 he became the Worshipful Master of Fellowship Lodge Number 26. In March 2023 he was honored as being the oldest Worshipful Past Master still living.
He worked over thirty-eight years for the D.C. Public School system as an engineer and retired in February 1992. Some of the schools where he worked as an engineer were Randall Jr. High, Langley Jr. High, McKinley Sr. High and Eastern Sr. High.
In 1981, Rudolph became a chartered member of the Spirit of Peace Baptist Church. Here he served as a Trustee for many years holding different positions until he became ill. In June 2016 he became Trustee Emeritus at Spirit of Peace Baptist Church.
Rudolph leaves to cherish his memory his daughter - Gequeta R. Overton of Hyattsville, MD. He also leaves to cherish his memory two grand children - Larry J. Overton II (Shalawn), and Sharnice T. R. Williams (Marcus), and seven great-grand children - DeShaun Lanier, Laila, Jaiden, Simone, Cameron and Aliya Williams and Allison Overton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
His wife - Evelyn W. Robinson preceded him in death in December of 2021. His second daughter - Valencia R. D’Haiti preceded him in death in November of 2014.
