Sherrie Vernice Carter was born on September 3, 1965 in Washington, DC. She attended Cardoza Senior High School and went on to have a long career in the food service industry. She held management positions at several establishments and obtained certifications that would help her grow into leadership roles. Sherrie was a sweet and caring woman who would help anyone in need. She dedicated her life to raising her children and the children of others. She had a love of music, comics, movies, and calligraphy, but most of all those she considered family. Sherrie's smile and giggle was infectious and could brighten any mood. Her hugs were warm and comforting and let you know someone cared. Her beautiful heart will echo in the lives of her children: Keyanna Carter, Destiny Wright, Freya Wright, and Sheran Carter; two grandsons: Koa and Kailo Gleaton; mother: Dorrethia M. Allen; sisters; Yolonda Dasilva and Andrea Williams; significant other; Marcello Johnson; nieces; Natasha Reed and Kale'a Dasilva; nephew; Jalen Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.
