Shon LeKent Hughes, the son of the late Lucius Tisdale, Sr. and late Naomi Hughes Williams born on November 9th, 1963, in Washington, D.C. He was called home to rest into eternal peace on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at home. Our family is grateful to know that Shon is at peace in his heavenly home.

Shon graduated from Potomac High School in 1981. He studied at the Duke Ellington School of Arts and the Georgetown School of Science and Art. Shon served in the United States Air Force before starting his career with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for over 36 years.

In 1990, Shon met the love of his life, Cynthia B. Robinson, while coaching pee-wee football. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married on June 27, 1992. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. They raised four children: Corey, Joseph, David and Chriseda. He always taught them to stand tall, be proud, and supported them throughout all of their many accomplishments and difficulties of their lives. Shon and Cynthia had a love for traveling, especially taking vacations on cruise ships, making each other laugh uncontrollably and watching sports. Everyone who knew Shon knew how much he loved the Dallas Cowboys.

Shon will always be remembered for his motto of “family and friends first” as well as spreading the word of God. He was a God loving man who always put the needs of his family and friends before his own. He was a genuine friend to those he knew and because of that his spirit will be carried on. He was an Associate Pastor at Prophetic Ministries of God Holiness Church for over 30 years. He was an intelligent, hardworking man that loved to sing and dance. He had many wonderful accomplishments in his life.

All that knew him will miss him dearly. Shon leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Cynthia and his children; Corey, Joseph, David (Kelli) and Chriseda (LaVelle); fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his Mom Gail Ann Tisdale; Mother-in-Law, Kathleen A Mitchell; brothers Lucius “Sonny” Tisdale, Jr., Christopher Tisdale, Ross “Bobby” Hughes, sister Carla Burrell; Brother-in-law Anthony Mitchell; two Sisters-in-law Rochelle (Kenneth) Dunbar and Rosalind (Joel) Clark and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Lucius Tisdale, Sr.; Mother Naomi Hughes Williams; ‘Pops” Andrew Williams; brother, Oren Tisdale, Sister-in-law Daphane Smith.
