Taryn Michelle McPherson- Winfree departed this life on September 23, 2023 at Georgetown University Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Taryn was born on May 4, 1964 to Audrey Bernice Tyson and John Franklin McPherson in Washington, DC. She was raised by her father and maternal grandmother, Emily Tyson, due to her mother passing at an early age. Taryn matriculated through the Archdiocese of Washington Catholic schools and graduated from Bowie State University and Webster University. Taryn held numerous positions as a Contracting and Acquisitions Officer at various federal agencies throughout her career. Taryn married Maurice Winfree in 1997 and made a home in Mitchellville, MD with their two boys, Maurice A. Winfree II and Mauri A. Winfree. Taryn was preceded in death by her parents Audrey and John McPherson, and grandmother, Emily Tyson. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Maurice A. Winfree; sons, Maurice A. Winfree II and Mauri A. Winfree; grandchildren, Amir and Melody Winfree; siblings, Arvell Seabrooks (Victoria Rutherford), Aubrey Seabrooks (Michelle), Diane McPherson Bracey (Phil), Joel McPherson (Keva) and Jonathan McPherson (Darmelita); best friends, LaShawn Brown snd Catrice Harris. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to cherish her memory.
