Willette Beatrice King-Abraham was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on October 28, 2023. She was born on August 14, 1950, at Gallenger Hospital in Washington, DC to the late Willis and Gladys Beatrice Campbell.
Willette was educated in the DC Public Schools. She attended Turner Elementary School, Douglas Junior High School, and Margaret Murray Washington Vocational High School. She was a born leader. Her leadership qualities were evident when she was elected senior class president. After graduating from high school, she attended Washington Technical Institute.

On August 26, 1972, Willette married Alan J. King. Alan J. King Jr. was born from this union. She secured a position with the DC Recreation Department as a recreation specialist. She was a dedicated and devoted employee who earned many awards and citations. She was elected union representative of Local 2741. When asked about her occupation, she took pride in saying, “I play for a living”. She retired from the department in 1994 after 27 years of service.
Willette was blessed to marry Robert L. Abraham on September 23, 1989. Her life was devoted to enjoying and loving her husband, son, and grandson, Darrell Brown. She was truly blessed to have the love of her family and friends but felt something was missing in her life.

The missing link in her life was the church. On February 28, 2010, she joined Faith and Tabernacle of Praise and Peace. She rededicated her life to Christ and started on her journey to do the work God planned for her to do. She served as a Missionary at Faith and Tabernacle of Praise and Peace. She also sang with the choir, worked with the youth in Sunday School, served homeless men, called the sick and shut-in, and helped with the share program. As a breast cancer survivor, she became a spokesperson for breast cancer awareness. She was always available when a helping hand was needed.

Willette worked to please the Lord. She loved singing and always had a song in her heart to share with anyone who would listen. She was simply “A nobody trying to tell everybody about somebody who can save anybody”. She had two favorite sayings that expressed her confidence in God’s ability to work things out for His people. She always said, “I am not worried because it’s already done” and “I don’t know what I know, but I know that God has already worked it out”.
As the eldest child of seven brothers and sisters, she always felt a sense of responsibility for their care. Willette loved people and living her life. She took pride in singing for the Lord, giving encouragement, helping others, and making people laugh. She lived a full life. She always said, “When I leave this world, it won’t owe me a thing”.

Willette leaves emptiness in the hearts of her son, Alan J. King Jr. of Bowie, MD; her daughter-in-law, Bernice King, of Bowie, MD; two grandsons, Darrell Brown and Shawn Garrick; two sisters, Linda Jacobs of Temple Hills, MD and Diane Campbell-Mitchell of Cheverly, MD; two brothers, Willis Earl Campbell of Upper Marlboro, MD (her twin) and Curtis Bernard Campbell of DC; seven nieces and nephews (Vikki Morehead, Randolph Childress, Raymond Jacobs, Megan Mitchell, Marcus Mitchell, Jasmine Campbell, and Byron Campbell), four sisters-in-law (Mary Ann Willis, Doris Abraham, Janet Abraham and Hilda Bellamy); one brother-in law (Thomas Willis); grand nephews, grand nieces, and a host of other family and friends.

Willette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Abraham; two brothers, Charles and Randolph Campbell and a sister, Alfreda Campbell.
