Obituary for Willie Pearl Williams

Willie Pearl Williams, affectionately known to many as “Willie” transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on September 26, 2023.

Willie was born on July 24, 1942 in Marshville, North Carolina to the late Willie and Mildred Williams. He was the first born of six children.

Willie was educated in the Anson County public schools. Anson County is where he met his partner, the late Lucille E. Harrington. They were blessed with two children from this union. Some years later, they moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. Willie later moved to Washington, D.C. where he remained until death.

Willie had several jobs in the Washington, D.C. area. For the last 28 years, he was employed by Securitas Security Services in Washington, D.C. Willie was a committed employee, who took pride in his job, as noted and mentioned by several co-workers, which it made it difficult to retire in 2022, after his health started failing.

Willie was a faithful member of Bright Light Baptist Church in Takoma Park, Maryland for over 28 years. He loved his church and church members.

Willie loved his siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. He enjoyed watching the Commanders football team (“Washington Redskins”). Willie had a reputation as being a sharp dressed man with an impeccable style. He loved looking fashionable in his dazzling clothes, suits and hats.

Willie will be remembered and cherished by his two children: (1) son, Christopher Pearl “Chris” Harrington (daughter-in-law, Nancy); (1) daughter, Kathy “Katherine” Harrington-Hooker (son-in-law, Charles); two sisters, Mable Little and Jeanette Barrino (brother-in-law, Cleveland); one brother, Frankie “Frank” Williams (sister-in-law, Gloria). Willie was preceded in death by two siblings, a brother, Larry Williams and a sister, Hattie Mae Dubose.

Six (6) dearly loved grandchildren: Darrian Hooker, Charles Hooker, Kimberely Crowder (Randal), Tiffany Harrington, Christopher Harrington (Tracy) and Alexandria Alonso (Miguel); four (4) great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Lorraine; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
